Installing a Smart Card Reader

Smart card readers generally come with instructions on how to connect any necessary cables. If you do not have instructions, use the following general procedure. The smart card reader should be installed on the Windows 2000 Professional workstation.

To connect a smart card reader

1. Shut down and turn off your computer.
2. Attach the reader to an available serial port, or insert the PC Card reader into an available PCMCIA Type II slot.
3. If your serial reader has a supplementary PS/2 cable/connector, attach your keyboard or mouse connector to it, and plug it into your computer's keyboard or mouse port. Many new smart card readers take power from keyboard or mouse ports because it is not always provided by RS-232 ports and it is both expensive and cumbersome to require a separate power supply.
4. Boot your machine and log on as a user with administrative privileges.
   
   
   If the smart card reader has been detected and installed, the Welcome to Windows logon screen will acknowledge this. If not:
   1. Follow the onscreen directions for installing the device driver software. This will require either the Windows 2000 CD or media that contains the appropriate device driver from the manufacturer of the smart card reader . (Alternatively, your system administrator may provide you with a network share from which to obtain the driver.)
   2. Right-click the My Computer icon on your desktop, and click Manage on the submenu.
   3. Expand the Services and Applications node, and click Services.
   4. In the right pane, right-click Smart Card. Click Properties on the submenu.
   5. On the General tab, select Automatic in the Startup Type drop-down list. Click OK.
   6. Reboot your machine if the Hardware wizard instructs you to do so.
   If the Hardware wizard does not start automatically, then your smart card reader is not a Plug and Play device. We strongly advise that you use only Plug and Play Smart Card Readers with all Windows

I had faced a problem during installing skype in my friend's computer laptop.  A message comes mentioning an fatal error and give error code 2738.  I will describe how did i solve this program and install skype?


Finally i have found this tips:-

Skype installer relies upon VBScript & JavaScript, which for some reason isn't registered automatically within Windows.

I have already followed and tested so follow this Steps to register vbscript.dll and jscript.dll

Windows 32 bit

1. Run cmd.exe with administrator privileges (Start > type ‘cmd’ then

right click on cmd.exe and select Run as Administrator, then click

Continue when prompted by the elevation consent dialogue box). This

will open a command prompt in c:\windows\system32

2.Type “regsvr32 vbscript.dll” (Without The Quotes) press Enter

Restart Your Computer.

Try running the installer.

You may need to reset your Internet Explorer Settings.

Stacking together a handful of separate features in Gmail gives you a unified inbox for managing multiple email accounts, and an easy way to glance at and manage them all.
Earlier this month a feature appeared in Gmail Labs: multiple inboxes based on labels. Zach Gellar, over at The Official Gmail Blog, has a great tip for leveraging the multiple-inbox trick into a full fledged control panel for multiple email accounts:

1: Turn on Multiple Inboxes from the Labs tab under Settings.
2. Set up a filter to auto-archive all mail sent to your work or school address.
3. Customize one of your multiple inboxes to show mail sent to your other address. To do this, go to the Multiple Inboxes tab under Settings and set up one of the panes to search for mail sent to your other address.
4. (Optional) Use a "custom from" address so that replies will be sent from Gmail but as if they're from your other account. This way, your coworkers or classmates won't know the difference

Once you've set your email to be forwarded and properly labeled, you can use the other inboxes not as subdivisions of your primary Gmail account, but as inboxes for separate email accounts. Genius! While some prefer to keep their various email accounts compartmentalized, if you're not opposed to creating a mega-inbox, this trick stands to greatly cut down on the time you spend navigating to, and taming, your email.

Some times We need to have a multiple e-mail addresses but we dont like to remember the each username and password for all and we dont like to go with the time consuming signup process and validation of each accounts we need. Google Gmail is a very slick, free email product. One Gmail feature that you may not be aware of is that multiple Google email addresses can be created from one Gmail account. These bonus email addresses are easy to create and manage and can take a few different forms.

In an interesting twist Gmail does not recognize dots, ”.”or periods as characters in Google email address user names. This means that Gmail “sees” my.name@gmail.com or myna.me@gmail.com as the same address as myname@gmail.com. You can also use multiple “dots” in the username such as my.na.me@gmail.com.

The same “dot blindness” also applies to email addresses using the @googlemail.com domain name with my.name@googlemail.com or my.na.me@googlemail.com being routed to the same Inbox as myname@gmail.com.

Using the Plus Sign and Additional Characters
The third trick for extending the use of your Gmail account is the ability to add extra characters to the end of your username by inserting a plus sign, “+” after your name. Google does not recognize these characters but Gmail search filters do. The characters after the plus sign can be either letters or numbers. So myname+abcde@gmail.com or myname+abcde@googlemail.com will end up in the same Inbox as myname@gmail.com.

Test these out for yourself and see what works best for you. All the variations below are from the same Google email account and will all end up in the myname@gmail.com Gmail Inbox:

Method 1: Bypass Windows password with Command Prompt

 Safe Mode is a diagnostic mode of a computer Operating System (OS), a special way for Windows to load when a system-critical problem interfering with normal operation of Windows. If you are not able to boot your computer in normal mode or supposed your notebook is infected with Trojans or malware, you are able to get rid of them with Safe Mode. Furthermore, it is easier and safer to bypass Windows password in Safe Mode when lost or forgot Windows password.

Take Windows 7 for example: there are 3 different types of safe mode: Safe Mode, Safe Mode with Networking, and Safe Mode with Command Prompt. Below is a guide on how to bypass Windows 7 password with Safe Mode with Command Prompt, which allows you to reset Windows password with command line. Detailed steps are as follow:

Step 1: Boot or reboot your Windows 7 computer.

Step 2: Press F8 to enter Advanced Boot Options before the Windows 7 loading screen appears.

Step 3: Choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt in the coming screen, and then Press Enter.

Step 4: Wait for Windows 7 files to load until Windows login screen comes up.

Step 5: Log in with an administrator account until you see login screen.

Step 6: A Command Prompt appears. Type net user in the Command Prompt and then hit Enter. All Windows user account names will be listed for you.

Step 7: Type net user Nareshp  K@thamandu321 and hit Enter. (Here this is  the user  Nareshp to be reset and next is desired password for the same user )

Step 8: The new password has been successfully reset when the command is completed successfully.

Step 9: Log on your PC with the new password.

Note: 'Nareshp' is your locked Windows user account name. And 'K@thamandu321' means the new password you want to reset for the locked account.

Whenever you need to log on to Safe Mode, an administrator account password is necessary. So it is highly recommended you to write Windows password down and store it or creating a Windows password recovery disk before Windows password lost.

How To Reset a Windows 7 Password (2nd Common Method)

Here's How:

1. Insert either your Windows 7 installation DVD, or a Windows 7 System Repair disc, into your optical drive and then restart your computer. If you have either on a flash drive, that'll work too.
   After your computer boots from the disc or flash drive, click Next on the screen with your language and keyboard choices.
2. Tip: Don't see this screen or do you see your typical Windows 7 logon screen? Chances are good that your computer booted from your hard drive (like it normally does) instead of from the disc or flash drive you inserted, which is what you want. See the appropriate link in the tip from Step 1 above for help.
3. Click on the Repair your computer link.
   Note: If you booted with a system repair disc instead of a Windows 7 installation disc or flash drive, you won't see this link. Just move on to Step 4 below.
4. Wait while your Windows 7 installation is located on your computer.
5. Once your installation is found, take note of the drive letter found in the Location column. Most Windows 7 installations will show D: but yours may be different.
   Note: While in Windows, the drive that Windows 7 is installed on is probably labeled as the C: drive. However, when booting from Windows 7 install or repair media, a hidden drive is available that usually isn't. This drive is given the first available drive letter, probably C:, leaving the next available drive letter, probably D:, for the next drive - the one with Windows 7 installed on it.
6. Select Windows 7 from the Operating System list and then click the Next button.
7. From System Recovery Options, choose Command Prompt.
8. With Command Prompt now open, execute the following two commands, in this order:

   copy d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe d:\
   

   copy d:\windows\system32\cmd.exe d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe
   

   To the Overwrite question after executing the second command, answer with Yes.
   Important: If the drive that Windows 7 is installed on in your computer is not D: (Step 5), be sure to change all instances of d: in the commands above with the correct drive letter.
9. Remove the disc or flash drive and then restart your computer.
   You can close the Command Prompt window and click Restart but it's also okay in this situation to restart using your computer's restart button.
10. Once the Windows 7 logon screen appears, locate the little icon on the bottom-left of the screen that looks like a pie with a square around it and then click it!
    Tip: If your normal Windows 7 logon screen did not show up, check to see that you removed the disc or flash drive you inserted in Step 1. Your computer may continue to boot from this device instead of your hard drive if you don't remove it.
11. Now that Command Prompt is open, execute the net user command as shown, replacingmyusername with whatever your user name is and mypassword with whatever new password you'd like to use:

    net user myusername mypassword
    

    So, for example, I would do something like this:

    net user Tim 1lov3blueberrie$
    

    Tip: If your username has spaces, put double quotes around it when executing net user, as in net user "Tim Fisher" 1lov3blueberrie$.
12. Close the Command Prompt window.
13. Login with your new password!
14. Create a Windows 7 Password Reset Disk! This is the Microsoft-approved, proactive step you should have done a long time ago. All you need is a blank flash drive or floppy disk and you'll never need to worry about forgetting your Windows 7 password again.
15. While not required, it would probably be wise to undo the hack that makes this work. If you don't, you won't have access to accessibiily features from the Windows 7 login screen.
    To reverse the changes you've made, repeat Steps 1 through 7 above. When you have access to Command Prompt again, execute the following:

    copy d:\utilman.exe d:\windows\system32\utilman.exe
    

    Confirm the overwrite and then restart your computer.
    Important: Undoing this hack will have no impact on your new password. Whatever password you set in Step 11 is still valid.
